Data - Products

The Boulder Facility Archive provides search and access tools that allow the user to access data and information in the the Archive Database. The Web interface to the Archive Database therefore provides for easy retrieval of data sets that meet a researcher's selection criteria. For data that is publicly available, the Boulder Facility Archive can provide the following:

  • Raw data - the original receiver format files, when available.
  • RINEX - a translation of the original raw data (when available) into RINEX v.2 using the teqc translator suite, or project-supplied RINEX (if it was submitted to the Archive), or both. (If requesting project-supplied RINEX, the metadata and data translation is not verified. Also, this RINEX may be v.1 or v.2, unless a special request is made to convert all v.1 RINEX to v.2 RINEX.)
  • Metadata - Antenna height, phase center, eccentricities, receiver type, operator name, and principal investigator are among the over 200 types of data that are potentially in the Archive Database and presented in Web reports.
  • Digital (JPEG, GIF, TIFF, PostScript) images of site sketches, set up, antennas, and so on.
  • Hard copies of original log sheets and site descriptions.
  • Selected data and metadata - Based on queries by the user, or from discussion with Data Management and Archiving staff, either data files or tabular lists of selected information can be delivered by FTP, tape, or other means.

Data is typically provided electronically through the Internet, to be picked up from our FTP directory or placed directly in your FTP directory. Hard copies are sent through the mail and tapes can be mailed upon request.
