One of this projects' goal is to reconstruct the history of sea level in the Mississippi Delta for the last 2000 years through the collection and dating of peat samples. The GPS component of this project is to measure the elevations of the peat sample locations with cm accuracy and to quantify the vertical errors involved. UNAVCO provided four GPS systems, field support, and data processing support.
