Data Event Response to the December 28, 2016 M5.7 earthquake 29km WSW of Hawthorne, Nevada

Event Summary

A M5.7 earthquake occurred at 08:18:00 UTC (12:18am local) on December 28, 2016 29km WSW of Hawthorne, Nevada. This event was followed by another M5.7 event four minutes later and a swarm of more than 200, smaller events the same day.

GPS Data
In response to the M5.7 earthquake 29km WSW of Hawthorne, Nevada on 2016-12-28 08:18:00 UTC, UNAVCO is downloading high-rate GPS/GNSS data from EarthScope Plate Boundary Observatory stations within ~50 km of the epicenter. One sample-per-second (1-sps or 1 Hz) data are being downloaded for a 7-day period around the event (day of event ± 3 days). Five sample-per-second (5-sps or 5 Hz) data are being downloaded for the 24-hour day of the event. These data will be available from the UNAVCO ftp site.
