A magnitude 4.5 earthquake occurred at 05:33:42 UTC on October 15, 2019, 1km SSE of Pleasant Hill, California. For more information, see the USGS Earthquake Hazards Program event page.
The event occured within the Network of the Americas (NOTA) footprint. NOTA is a core component of the NSF Geodetic Facility for the Advancement of Geoscience (GAGE), operated by UNAVCO.
NOTA GPS/GNSS Real Time Data Solutions
UNAVCO’s Real Time GNSS network did not detect this event (Figure 2).
NOTA GPS/GNSS High Rate Data for Post Processing
High rate 5-sps (5 Hz) data were downloaded from NOTA stations within ~35 km of the epicenter for a 3-hour time window around the event (± 1.5 hours). A map of downloaded stations is provided in Figure 1. These data are available in RINEX format from the UNAVCO high rate data ftp site.
GAGE GPS/GNSS Displacement Estimates
Coseismic offsets > 1mm, if any, will be estimated by the GAGE GNSS Analysis Center Coordinator and made available in an event (*.EVT) file available from the UNAVCO event data products ftp site. Any long term time series offsets will also be estimated from Kalman filter time series analyses and included in the master offset (*.OFF) file available from the UNAVCO station offsets ftp site.
NOTA Borehole Strainmeter Data
Fully processed 1-sps borehole strainmeter (BSM) dataset for this event has been produced. This dataset can be downloaded from the UNAVCO borehole strainmeter event response page. See Figure 3 for examples of signals recorded by the BSM network.
Note: Figures and findings are preliminary and subject to revision.
