GPS Campaigns - Equipment - Trimble 5700 Receiver Information
Programming for automatic logging of daily UTC sessions: (Programming the 5700 correctly is critical for collecting the desired data. The process is not trivial, and a well understood sequence must be followed to ensure proper data collection.) The recommended sequence from UNAVCO is: 1a. Create the configuration file in C-Tools v4.0. Earlier versions of C-Tools do not support Time Activation, which is necessary to program sessions. -or- 1b. Download the UNAVCO default configuration file below, and proceed to step 4. 2. Save the file to the computer. 3. Close C-Tools. 4. Perform a hard reset of the receiver and format the compact flashcard by holding the receiver power button down for 30 seconds. CAUTION: Any data on the compact flashcard will be erased! 5. Open the saved configuration file in C-Tools. 6. Transmit the configuration file to the receiver. 7. Close C-Tools. 8. Test run the receiver to verify proper operation prior to actual fieldwork. Configuration Toolbox v4.0 bug: When configuring the 5700 receiver to log data using C-Tools, the configuration file must be transmitted to the receiver BEFORE it is saved. Bug - if the configuration file is saved, then transmitted, the receiver will not automatically log data. Last modified Wednesday, 16-Nov-2005 20:57:00 MST |
