When borrowing equipment from UNAVCO, the project PI is responsible for any damage or missing items upon return to UNAVCO. GPS equipment is expensive and theft is a real concern for equipment left unattended. Prior to receiving equipment from UNAVCO, the project PI is required to sign a "UNAVCO Equipment Loan Agreement". It is the PIs responsibility to ensure that the equipment is adequately insured during a project. Upon completion of the project, the research organization will be billed by UNAVCO for any missing or damaged equipment, other than normal wear and tear.
