Polar Services - Barrow GPS Survey System - Specifications

Specifications

A fixed geodetic GPS base station is located in the BASC library at the UIC-NARL facility. The system consists of a Trimble NetRS GPS receiver and a Trimble radio transmitter. Data are logged for post processing, and a real-time kinematic (RTK) broadcast supports local real-time surveys and stakeouts. The system is considered to be a permanent base station, and it is not intended to be moved, disconnected, or configured by system users. The base will support RTK surveys throughout the Barrow Environmental Observatory (BEO), and post-processed surveys over 100 kilometers away, including Atqasuk.
