If you get a "Permission denied" return, you need to edit or create a ".rhosts" file in your home area. For each machine name in your $U/WORK/PCFCTL.CPU file, you will need an entry that allows you to automatically run an "rsh" command. The ".rhosts" file will look like:

[braunjizu WORK]$ cd 
[braunjizu braunj]$ vi .rhosts

izu.unavco.org     braunj

[braunjizu braunj]$ chmod g-rwx .rhosts
[braunjizu braunj]$ chmod o-rwx .rhosts
[braunjizu braunj]$ ls -l .rhosts
-rw-------   1 braunj   braunj         27 Nov  6 14:30 .rhosts
[braunjizu braunj]$ rsh izu ls
BERN40_sakic
GPSDATA_P
GPSDATA_Q
GPSTEMP

The ".rhosts" file has to have the read, write, execute permissions turned off for group and others.
