Bernese - Tutorial: Campaign and Data Installation
Before running the BPE, a processing area must be created. To create a processing area, a campaign name must be choosen. This name should be less than eight characters in length and can be anything that the user chooses. This name will be used to name a subdirectory in one of the processing directories (either $P or $Q for this configuration). In this subdirectory, another set of subdirectories must be created to store and place the data, orbit, station, and output files. The campaign needs to be defined and created using the menu system. Start the menu system with the G command. yochi[braunj]:V41-$ G Select the CAMPAIGN menu (1).

When begining work on a new data set, it is wise to create a new campaign work area. To do this, a campaign name must be choosen. This name then needs to be added to the existing list of campaign names. Choose the ADD/DEL CAMPAIGN selection in the program panel (1).

It is a good idea to verify that the campaign and subdirectories were created. Change directories to the $P area and search around for the proper files. yochi[braunj]:V41-$ cd $P/ yochi[braunj]:V41-$ cd DOCU40_1 yochi[braunj]:V41-$ ls -F ATM/ DATPAN/ OBS/ ORB/ ORX/ OUT/ RAW/ STA/ The campaign should now be ready to import the example data set.
