TEQC Examples: TurboBinary high-rate (50 Hz) data

The following are examples of command lines that could be run. Be aware that the hyperlinks point to uncompressed files, and that trkHR_96.298_23 is a raw TurboBinary file. The raw data was collected using a TurboStar receiver on board the GPS/MET Microlab II satellite.

Note: The translation command line below is for any teqc version after 26 May 1999, since TB1s and TBhr are now off by default, rather than on by default.

  • This will translate a TurboBinary file into a RINEX OBS file (as redirected stdout). This particular TurboBinary file only has records for building the 50 Hz observables, and attempting to use the +nav option to extract the RINEX NAV file will result in an empty file. Also, the observables to be written out have been specified, along with the sampling interval (0.02 second):
    	teqc -aoa tb +TB1s +TBhr -O.obs l1+l2+ca+p1+p2 -O.int .02 trkHR_96.298_23 > trkHR_96.298_23.obs

  • "QC" of the data (keeping in mind that this is from a LEO satellite!); the plot and report files are excluded and the data was decimated to 1 second to exclude most of the high rate epochs which contain only L1 and L2 observables (i.e. no pseudorange values except at modulo 1 second epochs); IOD jump criteria is increased by 3 order of magnitude from the default setting to 400000 cm/min:
    	teqc +qc -iod_jump 400000 -plot -report -O.dec 1 trkHR_96.298_23.obs > trkHR_96.298_23.qc
